Integrating with Guru

We support two types of integrations with Guru:

• Guru API integration (recommended): A realtime integration with Guru which will continuously pull content out of Guru and upload to Cal. You must be on the Guru Builder plan or above to get access to their API.
• Guru card export: A one time export of the Guru card which can be uploaded to Cal’s knowledge base. We recommend this if you aren’t on the Guru Builder plan.

Guru API integration

1. Navigate to the Apps & Integrations page under the Team Settings menu.

2. Click on the API Access tab to manage your tokens.

3. Generate an API token for yourself by selecting Generate User Token and entering your name.

   

4. You can also generate API tokens for your teammates by selecting Generate a new user token.

5. You can reissue a token using the circular arrow icon on the right side of the dashboard next to the corresponding user. You can also revoke a user's token using the trash can icon.

6. Take the resulting token you generated and input it into Assembled’s integrations page. Find the Guru card and fill out the form using your email under “Username” and the generated token under “API Key”

   

Guru card export

We support Guru exports as a form of knowledge base for Cal. As of writing, our recommended approach for integrating Cal into your Guru knowledge base is to export the Guru cards, reach out to the Cal team, and we’ll have Cal up to speed with that data as soon as possible.

To export Guru cards, here’s our recommended approach:

1. On the left hand side of the guru menu there’s a Card Manager tab. On that tab, there’s a checkbox at the top to allow you to select all cards:

   

2. There’s an export button on the right hand side which will open up an export modal.

   

3. In the modal, you’ll want select Card content, details, and analytics:

   

4. Check your email inbox in a few minutes

5. Contact the Assembled Team via email (new-products@assembledhq.com) including the exported cards and we’ll upload the cards to Cal.
