Use recurring events to schedule something that repeats, such as a weekly team meeting or a monthly training, without adding each instance by hand. One recurring event can repeat on a custom pattern, such as every Monday or the first Friday of each month, and appear on many people’s schedules at once.

To create one, go to Schedule > Staffing timeline.

How recurring events work

  • Recurring events are added straight to the schedule you’re viewing, usually your primary schedule, when you select Save to schedule or Save changes. You don’t need to select Save on the Staffing timeline afterward.
  • Save any other changes on the Staffing timeline first. If you have unsaved changes, the recurring event dialog asks you to save or discard them before you continue.
  • Each recurring event uses the time zone you choose when you create it, so a 9:00 AM meeting stays at 9:00 AM local time when daylight saving time starts or ends. See Daylight saving time.
  • Under Keep customized events, recurring events are placed around events that were created or changed by hand, such as time off and Google Calendar events, and replace only automated events they overlap, such as events from templates.

Create a recurring event

Add recurring event is in the toolbar above the schedule.

    • Drag across an agent’s row to start a new event, then select Add recurring in Add a new event.
  2. In Add recurring event, choose the Event type, and optionally enter a Description.
  3. Under Select participants, select Add specific agents… to choose people, or add everyone who matches your current filters.
  4. Set the Start time, End time, and Time zone.
  5. Under Repeats…, choose how often the event repeats, such as Every weekday (Monday to Friday), a weekly or monthly pattern, or Custom.
  6. Set the date range to add the recurring events to.
  7. Under Event conflicts, choose how to handle existing events (see the table below).
  8. Select Save to schedule.

The events appear on each participant’s schedule for the date range you chose.

Option What happens to existing events
Keep customized events (default) Replaces automated events that the recurring event overlaps, and keeps events that were created or changed by hand, such as time off and Google Calendar events. The recurring event is placed around them.
Allow conflicts Adds the recurring events and leaves existing events as they are. Where events overlap, you choose which to keep on the schedule afterward.
