When managing your team's schedule in Assembled, you may occasionally need to undo changes, whether from a template application, a bulk edit, or an optimization that didn't work as expected. Scheduling history lets you restore a previous version of your staffing timeline without contacting support.

How do I restore a previous version?
- Navigate to the Staffing timeline.
- Select Show scheduling history above the timeline grid.
- Browse the version history to find the restore point you need. Typically the version immediately before your unwanted changes.
- Select Restore version next to that timestamp.
- Confirm the restoration.
The timeline will refresh automatically when the restoration is complete.
Keep in mind: Restoring a version reverts all changes made since that point, not just the most recent edit. Manual edits, optimizations, and other modifications made after that timestamp will also be undone. For larger teams (200+ agents), the restoration may take 30–60 seconds.
How do I restore changes for specific agents only?
If you only need to roll back changes for a subset of your team, filter the timeline first before restoring.
- On the staffing timeline, select Add filter and apply filters to show only the agents you want to restore.
- Select Show scheduling history.
- Find the version you want to restore.
- Select Restore version. This will only affect the agents currently shown on the timeline.
For example, if you applied a new template to your entire support team but only the night shift needs to revert, filter to night shift agents first, then restore.
What if I can't restore a version?
If you see an error about conflicting edits, there are a couple of approaches depending on what you need to undo.
Re-apply a previous template
If you only need to undo a template application and want to preserve manual edits made afterward:
- Go to Configure > Templates.
- Find the template that was applied before your unwanted changes.
- Re-apply that template to your staffing timeline.
Keep in mind: Re-applying a template preserves manual edits made after the original template was applied, but does not restore other manual changes or optimizations.
Contact support
If you're still having trouble or need help with a complex rollback, reach out to support@assembled.com and include the version timestamp you're trying to restore.
How do I check what changed?
Each version in scheduling history shows the timestamp of the change, who made it, how many agents were affected, and the type of change, such as a template application, manual edit, or optimization. Select Show scheduling history on the staffing timeline to browse this information.
