The Assembled → Google Calendar integration copies your Assembled events to Google Calendar. This article explains how to set it up, where events appear, and how to turn it off.
Important: This is a one-way integration, so you should make schedule changes in Assembled. Changes made in Google Calendar do not update Assembled and may be overwritten during the next sync. If you wish to update events in Assembled when they change in Google Calendar, enable the Google Calendar —> Assembled integration.
How do I set up the integration?
To connect your Assembled schedule to Google Calendar:
- Navigate to Configure > Third-party integrations.
- Select Assembled → Google Calendar.
- Choose where you want Assembled events to appear.
- Select Add.
- Sign in to Google and follow the prompts to authorize the connection.
- Open Google Calendar and confirm that your Assembled events appear.
Keep in mind: Assembled starts syncing events from the Sunday at the beginning of the current week. Past events aren't copied.
Where do synced events appear?
You can choose one destination when you set up the integration:
- Add events to My Calendar: Copies events to your primary Google Calendar.
- Add events to a separate calendar: Creates a separate calendar named Assembled Calendar and copies events there.
Does this integration sync Google Calendar events into Assembled?
No. The Assembled → Google Calendar integration sends events from Assembled to Google Calendar. It doesn't import Google Calendar events into Assembled, including schedule events or time-off events.
If you're using a Google Calendar → Assembled workflow, invite the Assembled calendar address directly. Assembled doesn't currently detect events shared through a Google Group invitation.
What if an event is missing from Google Calendar?
Check the following:
- Confirm that the event starts during the current week. Past events aren't copied.
- Confirm that the integration is active in Configure > Third-party integrations.
- Confirm that you selected the correct Google account during setup.
- If you use a separate calendar, check that Assembled Calendar is visible in Google Calendar.
The integration doesn't copy Google Calendar events into Assembled. If you want to sync events in that direction, you can also enable the Google Calendar → Assembled integration.
What if I see an old or duplicate event?
Make the schedule change in Assembled, then wait a few minutes for Google Calendar to update. Refresh Google Calendar and confirm that the integration is still active.
How do I turn off the integration?
- Navigate to Configure > Third-party integrations.
- Find Assembled → Google Calendar.
- Select the three-dot icon •••, then choose Disable.
- In the confirmation window, select Disable again.
Finally, open Google Calendar and confirm that the synced events have been removed.
