If you're planning a change to your Salesforce integration — for example, moving to Omni-Channel routing — you can test it against a Salesforce sandbox before making any changes to your live, production Salesforce connection.
Access: Setting up this connection requires help from Assembled Support. Contact support@assembled.com to get started.
Do I need an Assembled sandbox to test a Salesforce sandbox connection?
Yes. Testing against a Salesforce sandbox requires an Assembled sandbox environment. Contact support to confirm whether your account already has one. If it doesn't, we can set one up for you.
What if my Assembled sandbox is already connected to Salesforce production?
Some accounts have an Assembled sandbox that's connected to their live Salesforce production instance rather than a Salesforce sandbox. If that's the case for your account, we'll need your permission to disconnect that integration before we can connect your Assembled sandbox to your Salesforce sandbox instead.
Important: Disconnecting Salesforce production from your Assembled sandbox has no effect on your Assembled production environment. The two environments operate independently, so your live intraday operations and production sync continue running without interruption.
How do I request the connection?
- Contact support to confirm your sandbox setup and request the Salesforce sandbox connection.
- Give us the go-ahead to disconnect Salesforce production from your Assembled sandbox, if that connection currently exists.
- Complete a Salesforce configuration workbook. We'll share a copy of a template for you to fill in with your Salesforce sandbox details.
- Join a working session with our team to finish the configuration together.
Once the connection is enabled, selecting the Salesforce integration from your Assembled sandbox will take you to your Salesforce sandbox instead of production.
How do I log in to the Assembled sandbox?
Your Assembled sandbox login is separate from your production login. If you don't already have sandbox access, send us the email addresses of anyone on your team who needs it, and we'll set up sandbox users — typically your production email with a "+sandbox" suffix (for example, you+sandbox@yourcompany.com). Use Forgot password? on the Assembled login page to set your sandbox password.
Keep in mind: Sandbox integration syncs disable automatically after 12 weeks of inactivity. If you need data flowing again after that, contact support to re-enable the sync.
What does testing with Omni-Channel routing show me?
If you're testing a move to Omni-Channel routing, Assembled's Salesforce integration supports both Omni-Channel and non-Omni-Channel cases. With Omni-Channel, we create units of work based on Salesforce AgentWork objects, giving you visibility into transfers, escalations, and other touches on a case.
