If your company recently changed email domains -- for example, after a merger, acquisition, or rebrand -- you may notice that events created in Assembled stop appearing on your team's Google Calendars, or that events created directly in Google Calendar stop appearing on agents' Assembled schedules. This usually happens because agents' Assembled login emails still reflect the old domain. This article walks through how to fix it.
Important: every affected agent's email address needs to be updated for sync to fully work in both directions. Updating only some agents can leave Assembled-to-Calendar sync working while Calendar-to-Assembled sync continues to fail.
Why does this happen?
Assembled matches Google Calendar events to the right agent using each agent's email address. If your company switches domains and agents' Assembled profiles still show their old email addresses, Assembled can no longer match calendar invites to the correct agent, even though their actual Google Calendar accounts have already moved to the new domain.
How do I fix Google Calendar sync after a domain change?
Update every affected agent's email address in Assembled to match their current domain.
- Go to Manage team > People management.
- Select an agent's profile.
- Edit the Email address field to their new domain (for example, replacing
@oldcompany.comwith@newcompany.com). - Select Save.
- Repeat for every agent on the old domain.
Note: anyone on your team with people-management access can make this change. You don't need to contact Assembled support to update agent email addresses.
How do I know if this fixed my sync issue?
After updating all affected agents, test both directions:
- Create an event in Assembled and confirm it appears on the agent's Google Calendar.
- Create an event directly in an agent's Google Calendar and confirm it appears on that agent's Assembled schedule.
If events created in Assembled sync to Google Calendar but events created in Google Calendar don't sync back to Assembled, double check that every agent's email address has been updated. A single agent still on the old domain can prevent that direction of sync from working correctly.
What if my team's shared calendar connection still isn't syncing?
Keep in mind: if your company uses a shared, teamwide Google Calendar connection (used to automatically create Assembled events from a shared team calendar) and it stops syncing even after every agent's email address is updated, contact support@assembled.com. Some domain changes leave this shared connection authorized against the old account, which requires our team to reset it on our end.
